My First Book “This Virus is a Ruin”

It has been quite a challenge to keep this secret until today. Those of you who know me are well aware of my impatience. I couldn’t resist sharing a bit of it with some of you in advance because you’re the closest people in my life. But the day has come… I present to you my first book, “This Virus is a Ruin,” in which I recount my experience during the lockdown and how the “Friends with Talent” program came to be.

The book is available in Spanish, English, and Spanglish (yes, Spanglish, which means Spanish and English all rolled into one). And it’s an interactive book. At the end of each chapter (day), there’s a QR code you can scan to view related photos and videos. And only those who purchase the book will receive a TOP SECRET password to access exclusive content.

You should know that it has been a long and tedious process. I wrote, translated, and edited it all by myself (yes, I know, go ahead, say it, “Nuria, you’re the best”). I must also mention that I’ve had valuable help from important people in my life.

First and foremost, my daughter helped with the final revision, just in case I messed up somewhere (I don’t trust myself much, so if you spot any typos, it’s her fault, hahaha).

Second, my dear friend Bea Varó, my favorite graphic designer, who created the book cover to perfection. We had a little argument about colors and other things, but in the end, we always reached an agreement.

Third, my great friend Sabrina from STCVideographer, who displayed incredible patience when I handed her all the materials (in very poor quality) and explained, in my unique way, that I wanted a trailer for my book. She played along, made all the changes I asked for, and added her own touch that I hadn’t even considered. If she thought I was crazy before, she’s certainly sure of it now!!

You can watch the trailer here:

And finally, I want to thank myself for being persistent, creative, and dedicating countless hours to this project. I’ve also managed to keep negative comments from affecting me and have remained open to new adventures. I don’t know where these adventures will take me, but I’m thoroughly enjoying the journey with myself.

I hope you enjoy reading and experiencing this book as much as I enjoyed writing and living it. I kindly ask for your support – buy a copy, read it, and spread the word to your family and friends so they can also enjoy my craziness.

Lastly, I’m in the midst of planning a “Book Signing Party”, which, of course, will be as unique as I am. It will be an artistic signature party where I’ll gather some of my “Friends with Talent” to help me create an incredible night filled with all my passions: dance, art, magic, beauty, fashion, music, and spirituality.

I eagerly await your purchases and comments on the book. Oh, and don’t forget to leave reviews too, hahaha. I know, I’m asking for a lot, but they say, “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.”

See you soon!
